Hello and welcome to the beginning of 31 Days of Praise and Prayer. Over the course of the next days I will be sharing my life of praise and prayer.
Every day of life is an unexpected sequence of events for us all. Even with the best of plans, any days’ turns and twists cannot be planned for. I have found through many years of experience and failures that there is a good, better and “Best Way” to prepare for each new day.
As we start out each new day with Praise something wonderful happens. When our feet hit the floor and we communicate even a brief word of praise, we start off on the right foot before our feet hit the floor.
Some days will allow us to linger in bed a while after we are awake. That is a perfect time to speak words of praise. The nice thing about Praise is that it can a silent or verbal, so you don’t wake a partner. However if they too are awake, why not Praise together?
My husband and I are blessed to be natural early risers. Rising early allows us time to start our day with God by reading his Word together. It is how we begin everyday and we Praise the Lord that we can spend this together time.
“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct [my prayer] unto thee, and will look up”. Psalms 5:3
Many days we find that the morning readings from his word are applicable to events of our day. We sometimes share those that manifested themselves individually for us. Sharing how God loves us so much to prepare us in advance for events and opportunities that he knows will present themselves in our daily life.
If you want more praise moments in your daily life, all you really have to do is commit to reading your Bible everyday. As you spend more time with the Lord, you can’t help but Praise Him more and more. This is the “Best Way” I spoke of earlier.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”.Psalm 119:105
Time spent in Gods word will always be time well spent. Even if some days your schedule only allows for a few brief moments, those few moments have value. Read what you can. Those few passages of scriptures may well be those needed to lighten your day and light your way.
So if praise and thanksgiving is deficient in your daily life, just make and spend time with him. It really is that simple.
