If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affections (mind ) on things above, not on the things of this earth.Colossians 3:1&2
A while back I heard The new song by the Zac Brown band “I’ve got everything I need and nothing that I don’t”! I like the lyrics to this song. It has sorta become a phrase that my husband and I say all the time now since hearing it. We related so much to what the song is saying that we have adopted it as ours. It fits us like a glove.
If you have not heard it I recommend listening to it. Then ask yourself if you could claim it too.
In the bridge of the song it says and repeats: “It’s the weight that you carry from the things that you think you want” before it again says, I’ve got everything I need and nothing that I don’t.
So much of Gods Word talks of this being the downfall of man. Much is repeated about coveting being the same as idolatry. Now I know that most of us would not like to be associated with Idolators. But the truth is, to live with a spirit of want of things this world has to offer, and set one sights continually on more, is to live with the weight that this song speaks of, and to be an idolator.

I Timothy 6:6-8
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and rainment let us therewith be content.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content.
Definition of: Content
In a state of peaceful happiness. Synonyms: contented, satisfied, pleased, fulfilled, happy, unworried, untroubled, at ease, at peace, tranquil, serene.
This state spoken of is a learned state. Paul had to learn it, I had to learn it, and so will you.
Sometimes the learning comes quickly and sometimes not. This schoolmaster of life usually requires loss and trial. Those hard places no one wants to experience or have to pass through. But once learned you have become free and live and enjoy freedom in a way you have never known.
The way I see it many live under this weight and never rest in the bountiful place of, having enough.
Let your conversation (manner of life) be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have:.
The world does not promote this place I speak of today. Everywhere you look you will see someone marketing to your senses. They want your money, but our enemy cunningly uses this vehicle to keep you in a covetous mindset. Remember that he is a thief and a liar. This trap will rob you of that heavenly place of having enough!
I lack nothing! I have enough! I have what I need today. Tomorrow I may need something else but I know my God, and I can trust that I will have it then.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
A satisfied heart is a heart filled will peace. I am blessed to spend my days with a man who I can share this place of contentment with. We have little in the worlds eyes but abound in riches.
